Export a scenario to Excel
Export a saved scenario to an Excel workbook, customer-facing with costs and margins removed, or internal with everything.
A scenario export is an Excel workbook of a saved scenario's lines. Open it with Create → Scenario export, or Export in Scenario planning. It has three steps: Build, Review and Export.
Build
Build scenario export: Choose a saved scenario, define the audience, and control which columns appear in the workbook. Exports use the saved figures.

- Scenario: choose a saved As Is, Right Sized or Optimized. If it has changes not saved yet, choose Save ... first (Save it as Scenario Planning shows it, then export it.).
- Export use: choose the audience.
Costs and margins excluded. Partner cost, markup, profit and incentives are hidden and locked (Locked: never sent to a customer). The workbook is marked CUSTOMER-READY.
- Selected columns: tick the columns to include. Your columns start from your own last export's; Reset to defaults goes back to every column. Select safe picks every column that's safe for a customer.
Choose Review export.
Review
Review scenario export previews the first rows (Rows) and About this export. Show all ... columns widens the preview. Retired products are listed at $0 with Retired by Microsoft: not billed, as on quotes, and free products are listed at $0. Choose Edit to go back, or Continue.
Export
Export scenario workbook: The export is recorded in this customer's Documents, then the workbook is downloaded. Choose Export and download. You'll see Saved and downloaded, with Open in Documents and Create another export.
Exports always use the scenario's saved figures. Your own scenarios export from Scenario planning's Export as a workbook straight away.
Build, review and download a quote
Build a quote from a saved scenario, choose its layout, brand kit and details, set your organization's quote defaults, create it to take its number, and download the PDF.
Versions and downloads
Download a presentation, brief, quote or export in each format, see every saved version, and restore an earlier one.
