Products & pricing

The customer's licensed products and what they pay today, where each price came from, and how to set or correct a customer price.

Overview → Products & pricing: Breakdown of all licensed products and services. This is what the customer has today and what they pay for it. It feeds the As Is scenario in Scenario planning.

$0 lines and their marks

A line never reads Not priced yet. When a product has no price, it shows $0.00 and a small mark beside it says why:

MarkMeans
A free note, for example Included free by Microsoft, No seats bought or Prepaid balanceThe product costs the customer nothing, or isn't bought through CSP
Warning icon: No customer price yet. Add the customer's invoice or agreement, or enter the price by hand.Deal Hub has no invoice, agreement or typed price for it. Choose Set price by hand in the popover, or read prices from a document (below). A list price never stands in for the customer's own
Warning icon on a retired productRetired by Microsoft: the popover names what it renews as
Warning icon on a product the price list doesn't haveThe popover says why, with Set price by hand
Information markThe product was priced at the Commercial price because the customer's segment has no offer of its own, for example No Non-Profit offer in this price list, priced at the Commercial price

Click a row to see its SKU details: category, quantity, unit price, billing, annual total, SKU, and the Price source (who set it and when). A $0 line's unit price shows the amount only (for example $0.00 · No customer price yet); the reason is in the note beside it.

Prices from documents

When the customer uploads an agreement or invoice, Deal Hub can read what they pay from it.

Everyone with Deal Hub access can read prices from a document and choose the Customer price list.

Read the prices

In Documents, choose Read prices on the file. It starts straight away. While it runs, Products & pricing shows Reading prices from a document: Prices appear here when it finishes.

Check what was applied

The first price found for a product is the one in use. Products that had no price take the price from this document. The file is then marked In use in Products & pricing in Documents.

Customer price list

When more than one document has prices, Customer price list (above the table) chooses which one sets them. Pick another document and confirm Use prices from ...? with Use these prices. It changes the customer price on the products that document priced; every other product keeps its price, and each change can be undone on the product itself.

When documents disagree

If another document gives a different price for a product, the row is marked. Open the product and choose Edit price: Another document has a different price. Choose Use this price on the one you want, then review and approve it (see below).

Set or correct a customer price

Everyone with Deal Hub access can set, review and remove a customer price. A product with no SKU part number shows Edit category instead of Edit price.

Open the product and choose Edit price.

The Edit product dialog with price source, customer document, unit price and currency
Setting a customer price.

Choose the Price source: a customer document, or entered by hand.

  • From a document: choose the Customer document and say Where is the price? (the page, row or line item). Upload the customer's EA agreement or incumbent invoice in Documents first.
  • By hand: add an optional Verification note. Your name and today's date are recorded either way.

Enter the Unit price (What one licence costs, per month) and the Currency. When the document states a yearly price, a Price basis choice also appears so the price reads as annual.

Choose Review price, check it, then Approve current price.

You can also change a product's Category here (it stays set when the record next syncs), or Remove current price.

Remove a product

Open the product, choose Remove, and confirm Remove product.
