Import from website

Read your logo and brand colours from your company website, choose what to use, and save it as your brand in one step.

Import from website reads a website and offers its logos and brand colours for your brand. Onyx reads the site for you; nothing changes until you choose Use for my brand.

For organisation admins

Only organisation admins can import from a website. The button is on the Branding page header.

Import your brand

Open it

On Settings › Branding, choose Import from website. The Company website field starts with your organisation's website (set in General Settings). You can type another one, for example acme.com.

Scan

Choose Scan. Onyx works through three steps: Opening the site, Reading brand colours and Collecting logos.

Choose what to use

Under Found on acme.com:

  • choose one of the logos it found, or No logo to keep your current logo and take only a colour (No logo found on the site. when there is none)
  • under Brand colours, choose Main or Secondary as your primary colour
The Import from website dialog with logo choices and brand colours found on the website
Import from website.

Use it

Choose Use for my brand. Your brand changes and saves at once, and the dialog closes. You'll see Brand updated with Undo if you change your mind.

What else it saves

Using a website's look also keeps a record in your Brand kits:

  • the website's look is saved as a kit named after the site, marked In use (an existing kit for that site is updated, never duplicated)
  • if your brand came from no kit (you set it by hand), it's kept once as a kit, for example Acme brand (before 14 Oct 2026), so you can go back to it with Use. A brand that came from a kit already lives in that kit, so nothing extra is kept

Scanning alone saves nothing. If your organisation already has 25 brand kits, delete one first.

When a site can't be read

You seeWhat to do
We couldn't read acme.com, as some websites block automatic reading. Upload your logo and pick your colour on the Branding page instead. The site blocks readers. Set your logo and colours by hand on Branding
We couldn't read acme.com just now. Try again in a moment.Choose Try again

Reading websites is paused

When Onyx has paused reading websites, Import from website isn't offered and Branding says Reading websites is paused (You can still upload a logo and set your colours.).

See the last read again

After a successful read, the Branding header says Last read from acme.com, 2 hours ago. Choose View to open what it found and use it.

Your company details

A separate lookup fills in your country, time zone, phone and email on Company, from the same company website.
